KEB CUSTOM COLLETS & GUIDE BUSHINGS
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Custom collets and guide bushings are available per your
specification. They command longer lead times and higher prices,
since each item is made per custom specifications. Custom collets
and guide bushings are manufactured from the same materials
and held to the same rigorous tolerances as our standard
products. Our engineering department is here to help in designing
the perfect custom product for your application.
When it comes to customs, your imagination is the limit. Here are
a few examples of custom configurations:

When it comes to customs, clarity is critical, so it is preferred for
you to supply a print. Errors happen when assumptions are made
so be sure to provide us with the most amount of information
possible.
EXTENDED NOSE PICK-OFF COLLETS & EXT. TAPERED
NOSES:
Extended Nose and Extended Tapered Nose Collets are smooth
bore unless otherwise stated. An "A" dimension is required for all
Extended Nose Collets. A "B" dimension is required, in addition to
an "A" dimension, when ordering all Extended Nose Tapered
Collets. An angle may be used in lieu of a "B" dimension. Please

EXTENDED NOSE GUIDE BUSHINGS:
Although rare, Extended Nose Carbide Guide Bushings are available
as special orders. They are designed to prevent deflection caused
by back working. An "A" dimension is required for the length of the
extension and a "B" dimension is required the nose diameter.

COUNTERBORE COLLETS & MULTIPLE BORE COLLETS:
A variety of Counterbore Collets are available including Standard,
Counterbore Extended Nose and Counterbore Extended Tapered
Nose. An undercut is recommended to seat your part correctly. "D"
and "E" dimensions are required for the two bore diameters. A "C"
dimension is required for the depth of the larger bore. Please click

STEP NOSE COLLETS:
Extended Nose Collets are available with steps in lieu of a taper.
They are designed for specialty applications to provide greater tool

EXTRUSIONS:
A customer supplied drawing is required for all Extrusions. To
assure the highest caliber product, it is requested that a stock
sample be sent with the purchase order.
ORDERING INSTRUCTIONS:
In order to provide you the exact custom collet for your specialty
application, it is critical that all of the information is accurately
represented and understood by both parties. Please copy the
appropriate drawing and fill in the required information and fax it to
440.953.9209 or email it to sales@kebkollets.com. In some
instances, a conference call may be required by our personnel to
clarify any issues.
Standard KEB Collets are machined to a tolerance of .0005” or
better Total Indicator Reading (TIR).
Standard KEB Guide Bushings are precision ground to a
coaxiality of .0002” or better. Coaxiality is a more rigorous
measurement than TIR.
Coaxiality tests the concentricity of multiple ID and OD points
simultaneously and their interrelationship with each other, a
standard which redefines the industry.
